RECEPTION
The warmness of the Irrawaddy Explorer begins when it welcomes you aboard in the Reception Area. With a grand staircase rising to the upper decks, Reception is where guests will be welcomed aboard on embarkation day, and welcomed home with a refreshing drink and cool towel after every excursion.
CUSTOMS HOUSE DINING ROOM
The Customs House Dining Room is a tribute to the vast array of spices, exotic fruits, and vegetables grown in the fertile soil along the banks of the Irrawaddy. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide natural light, while providing beautiful scenery to admire during every dining period. With open seating at every meal, guests will enjoy sumptuous breakfast and lunch buffets, and a served dinner, with diverse regional and Western selections at every meal.
WRITER’S LOUNGE
The warm and inviting Writer’s Lounge pays homage to the famed authors who eloquently wrote of Burma and its colonization by distant rulers. It is a perfect venue for gathering with fellow explorers at the end of each day to share stories about your incredible experiences. Handcrafted cocktails, fine wines, and on-board entertainment add to the relaxing environment to create a fitting end to a perfect day sailing the Irrawaddy.
OBSERVATION DECK
The Observation Deck on the Irrawaddy Explorer is the perfect place to awaken with a fresh cup of coffee, relax with a good book, or watch the sun set with an evening cocktail. This area of the Sun Deck offers comfortable seating areas with both sun and shade.\
THE EXPLORER SPA AND FITNESS CENTER
The Explorer Spa is an oasis where relaxation and pampering are offered. Guests may enjoy Western spa treatments, or the traditional Myanmar massage, which uses oils and creams made with the ground, sandalwood-scented, bark of the Thanaka tree, said to have anti-fungal and anti-aging properties, as well as sun protection. The Explorer Spa only uses all-natural products.
The fitness center on board the RV Irrawaddy Explorer offers modern exercise equipment to guests who wish to work off the scrumptious desserts from last night’s dinner.
